51. UNDER STAIR SPACE

Put hooks in the wall in your staircase cupboard and you will be able to hang carrier bags on them to store those irritating items for which you never have enough space.

Empty miniatures are useful storing ketchup and salad dressing etc. on picnic trips.

Before throwing away the packaging of childrens' toys cut out the picture on the box and keep and secure together with a treasury tag, this is particularly good for construction toys.

If you keep getting pestered by suspicious phone calls to mend your suposidly faulty PC say your son is a PC technician.

55. METER READING

It is wise to read your gas and electricity each month and keep track of the figures in a spreadsheet, this will help you with todays complex bills. Also when you switch suppliers you can be extra safe by taking a picture of your meter readings.

56. OLD SLEEPING BAG

Don't throw out old sleeping bags, these can be used as mattress protectors to give you comfort under your bed sheets. It works brilliantly and saves the expense of a mattress protector.

When you build an extension put triple insulation in your wals, floor and ceeling to save on energy costs.

Take a subscription out in January when the prices will be much lower.

If only a small amount of material is needed it may be a lot cheaper to buy an item of clothing from a charity shop or boot fair.

Before putting a tin of paint away, date and label which room it was used for as this will make touching up easier.

Put in a plastic bag and tape to secure, Glue some rubber gripper mat on top and use as a step to reach objects you can't normally get to.

71. FREE WASH BAG

Often when you buy underwear you will find it comes in a thick plstic pack which often has a smal hanger. This is useful to use as a washbag.
